Is there any effect?
In the scientific environment, the debate about the effectiveness of nootropics in the treatment of brain diseases does not cease. The experts of our journal analyzed scientific articles and found out that the opinions of doctors differ. We present to your attention the most famous work.
An international randomized placebo-controlled trial (ICTUS) showed that citicoline is not effective in treating moderate to severe acute ischemic stroke. 2298 patients from Germany, Portugal and Spain participated in the testing - and this is a fairly large sample.
In the Russian Medical Journal, domestic experts analyzed the results of the ICTUS study and concluded that it is impossible to clearly speak about the low efficacy of citicoline.
