It is also worth considering user habits. For example, gamers will need a functional, reliable and convenient table with a spacious tabletop, additional shelves for audio systems and other equipment. But the child will need drawers, where you can put all the school supplies.

The size of the computer desk

Dimensions are the depth and width of the table top. The first parameter depends on the configuration of the computer:

1. If you plan to use the system unit and monitor, the depth should be more than 80 cm;

2. If you plan to use a laptop, the depth should be more than 60 cm.

These parameters are optimal in terms of ergonomics (there is enough space to accommodate the keyboard and mouse) and sanitary standards (the recommended distance from the eyes to the monitor).

The optimum width of the table top is 120 cm. If you plan to put shelves with paper documents on it, then at least 150 cm.

And the normal height of a computer desk for most people is 70-80 cm.

The shape of the computer desk

Therefore, it is better to choose tables with a deeper table top in order to place input devices on it.

A monitor shelf is also useless - and often even harmful to your posture.The display must be installed directly on the countertop.

The shelf for the system unit should be sufficiently spacious and at least 5-10 cm from all sides of the walls to ensure good ventilation. Sufficiently comfortable tables, in which this compartment is equipped with a wheel. It is desirable that such a shelf does not have a frontal “decorative” partition - it not only reduces the level of ventilation, but also makes using the computer uncomfortable due to the inability to reach the connectors on the front panel.

Shelves for peripheral equipment - a printer, scanner, audio system - it is advisable to place above the table top to leave more free space under the table.

But the stand under the legs will repeatedly increase the comfort of the table. Especially if it is removable.

Curbstone of a computer table

The curbstone is convenient for storage of various documents, stationery and other trifles. But at the same time it reduces the level of table comfort, because there is less free space for legs. Therefore, it is only necessary to acquire models that are equipped with a stand, if it is really necessary.

It is recommended that the bollard is retractable and on wheels - then it will be more convenient to remove dust under it and remove fallen flash drives.
