Nevertheless, even with all these shortcomings, the PlayStation is the best gaming console. The fact is that Sony collaborates with game developers, thanks to which projects for this platform are distinguished by the highest optimization, and exclusives are constantly released.

Microsoft xbox

The Microsoft Xbox gaming platform is the main competitor for the Sony PlayStation. In the race for the gamer's wallet, these companies are constantly improving the hardware of their consoles, offering exclusive projects and interesting technological solutions. However, for unknown reasons, the Xbox regularly turns out to be an “outsider”.

Thus, the Microsoft Xbox is more like a home media center with a gaming console function. However, a single Windows platform becomes their most powerful advantage. For example, you can run the game on the console, collapse it, open the Xbox application on a computer with this operating system, and continue playing there.

Nintendo wii

The Nintendo Wii console is a rather peculiar gaming solution. It offers a very unusual gameplay experience and management, so almost all the flagship projects are simply not released to her. Nintendo Wii is more suitable as an additional console than the main one.

All this makes the Nintendo Wii a very unique platform that is hardly suitable for everyday gaming.

Generation

Game platforms are updated approximately every four years. At the same time, the previous one still remains relevant for some time.

However, acquiring the console, it is worth taking it from the last generation. This means that from 2 to 5 years it will support the most modern games.

But the previous generation consoles have several advantages:

1. Low price for equipment (the prefix itself and accessories to it);

2. Cheapness of games;

3. Compatible with old TVs;

4. Regular output of various indie projects.

There are also disadvantages:

1. Developers may stop releasing updates for the game or even stop supporting multiplayer mode;

2. New flagship games will not be released.

Thus, if the budget is very limited, you can purchase the console of the previous generation. But only for a while. Then it will still have to be replaced with the current model - to enjoy modern games.

Other game consoles

Of course, these three platforms, the range of game consoles is not limited. Other consoles can also be found on the market - for example, 8- and 16-bit. They have a low price, but have limited support, the number of games and functionality. Such consoles are recommended only for fans of old school gaming.
