How to choose a gas boiler
Properly equipped country house heating system is the primary factor directly affecting comfort. Who wants to endure the constant cold and dampness in the room instead of enjoying comfort? If it so happens that there is no central heating in your house, you should resort to alternative heating sources. This may be a fireplace or an ordinary rustic stove, and perhaps a modern gas boiler - a compact, easy to operate and very functional device that allows you to quickly and, most importantly, economically heat even large and spacious houses. All that is needed is to choose the right gas boiler, as well as think over the heating system.

The choice of the manufacturer. What gas boilers are popular?
Despite the presence of a large number of diverse models on the market, preference should be given exclusively to proven technology from well-known brands certified by the relevant services of our country. Well-known European manufacturers of household appliances and industrial equipment with enormous experience in manufacturing such devices are traditionally considered the best.

Before giving preference to one or another model, it is necessary to familiarize yourself with its key features, as well as to study user feedback, taking into account both positive and negative experiences.
The principle of operation of gas boilers and their main types
The work of the gas boiler consists in the effective combustion of the air-gas mixture, as a result of which the room is heated and water is also heated. The gas is ignited by means of a burner or a piezoelectric element, and during its combustion a heat exchanger is heated. The latter is in contact with the heat-conducting fluid, which is forcibly pumped by means of a pump through the entire heating system of the house.
Types of gas boilers
Single circuit
The principle of operation of such devices provides for the presence of a single heating circuit. The device is supplied with a source of cold water, and at the outlet of it the water heats up and becomes hot. Accordingly, both the heat exchanger and the circulating pump are present in a single copy, and the main purpose of such boilers is the equipment of the heating system of a residential house.

Double boiler
Devices that allow to realize not only the heating system of a dwelling house, but also allow to realize the hot water supply system. It is assumed that there are two separate heat exchangers (or one bitothermic), working in tandem with one joint circulation pump. In standard mode, the system works to pump water in the heating system, and when the hot water tap is opened, the circuit opens, and the pump starts to transfer water through the second circuit to the tap. When the valve is closed, the system returns to its original state.

What to look for when choosing a gas boiler?
Device power
A parameter that directly affects not only the performance, but also the total gas consumption. The general rule when choosing such devices is that one kilowatt of boiler energy is enough to heat 8-10 square meters of space. If it is planned to use the boiler not only for heating, but also for hot water supply, it is necessary to add 25–30% to the required power, and 10–15% of the reserve power is almost always added to the amount received. The final figure obtained as a result of the calculations will denote the power that is necessary for the effective functioning of heating and hot water systems.
Wall or floor?
When deciding on a specific device, it is necessary to scrutinize the area of the furnace - the place where it will be installed. Depending on the amount of available space, a specific model is chosen - either it will be a floor-standing boiler or its wall counterpart when there is not enough space on the floor.
Automation systems
The more expensive a boiler is - the more perfect its design and the less it needs manual control. The most efficient models are equipped with a variety of automatic systems that maintain the efficiency of the boiler at the proper level, reduce gas consumption and help save water.
Protective equipment
Gas boiler is a source of increased danger, and therefore each manufacturer strives to secure and protect users as much as possible from emergency situations. Protection against overloads and attenuation, protection against insufficient pressure of water and gas - the occurrence of even the slightest danger should lead to the operation of protective automation.
Type of combustion chamber
Currently, the two most popular types of gas boilers are most popular - with an open and with a closed combustion chamber. Boilers with an open chamber to maintain the combustion process requires atmospheric air, ventilation is carried out naturally through the chimney. As a result of the operation of such a device, a lot of oxygen is burned, and therefore such devices must be installed in places with excellent air exchange; for installation in residential premises, such models are unsuitable.
The second type of boilers does not have direct contact with the atmosphere, and the combustion chamber in them is equipped with two nozzles: one is forced to supply oxygen, the second takes the exhaust gases to the outside. Such devices are characterized by maximum functionality, and their installation can be carried out even in an ordinary apartment.
Which gas boiler to choose?
-
For installation in a small apartment, a miniature double-circuit boiler becomes the best option. The combustion chamber of such a device must be closed, and the ventilation system is brought out of the room. Its power is calculated based on the area of a particular room;
-
A private house will require the installation of a sufficiently single-circuit boiler with a remote control, designed for heating. For the purposes of hot water supply, it is best to use an external boiler. As a rule, the power of such a device is 15-40 kW.
